This project is a collaboration between RC Paranaque Midtown and JCI Alabang. The brainchild of Rtn Gian Nacino when he was president of JCI Alabang, this project aims to promote environmentalism through recycling plastic waste in the community.

This is a two part project where the first part focuses on creating collection points in villages so people can place their plastic waste and the second part is delivering the plastic waste to the recycling center.

The first part involves placing collection bins in our partner communities. Our first community is the Teoville Homeowners Association, where the club donated a metal bin that can hold over 200 crushed plastic bottles. The bin was donated in collaboration with JCI Alabang. There is a second bin on the way donated by PP Rocky Velasco that will be donated to the second partner community in Paranaque. These two bins will serve as visual reminders for the residents to reinforce their recycling habit.

The second part is the delivery of the collected plastics to the recycling center. Our club once a month picks up all the collected plastics and brings it to alabang where the collection point of our partner recycling center is located. Once there the club sorts the bottles and send it off for recycling.

Once enough plastic bottles are recycled the recycling center will then exchange it for a plastic bench made out of recycled materials. This is a great way for the villages to be rewarded for recycling as well as serve as a positive reinforcement of the recycling habit. The club envisions a future where the environment is cared for and respected.

This is the club’s commitment to the environment. There is only one planet and we should take care of it.
