July 1, 2021 - Started by Rotarian and current RCPM Service Chairwoman, Kyra Ceralvo, this project was brought about during the height of the pandemic wherein Farmers from Benguet were struggling to sell their vegetables due to limitations on travel and closure of most food establishments, notwithstanding the typhoon which greatly affected their livelihood. From merely buying a few kilos of vegetables to give ease to the farmers.
This year despite all the uncertainties our country is facing, Kyra and our club aim to make this project even bigger by helping more farmers sustain their livelihood and feeding more women and children who are greatly in need of proper nutrition.
The first beneficiaries of this program were the children and families of Rotary Homes in Paranaque during Children's Day last July 1. For the month of July we also donated vegetables to Elsie Gatches Village, Haven for Children and SOS Alabang. For the year we plan to reach more beneficiaries by partnering with bigger sponsors whose goal is also to help eliminate hunger in poor
communities. For as low as P250, 5 kilos of vegetables can be purchased from Benguet Farmers and will be able to feed undernourished women and children in public and private institutions. If you would like to help please contact us through our Facebook page.
